VCC's annual turnover exceeds £30m and is growing at a rate of 100% year-on-year. The business is poised for significant expansion in the UK, continental Europe, and the US.

Business Model:

VCC simplifies the process of selling vintage items through a customer-centric approach. This includes free postage, expert restoration, and sustainable practices. Customers can send in items such as jewellery, watches, cameras, toys, and writing instruments to VCC for appraisal and a no-obligation cash offer. After appraisal, the items are either resold, repaired, or reused.

Role Overview:

As the Project Manager at VCC, you will have a vital role in leading the delivery of key efficiency and improvement projects. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing all aspects of project delivery, ensuring project outcomes align with the company’s strategic goals. This role requires strong project management skills, a deep understanding of Lean and continuous improvement methodologies, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

You will be leading the delivery of several projects running simultaneously and will need to be comfortable working at pace. You will need experience in coaching leaders through project management ways of working, driving cultural change and accountability.

You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered in line with VCC’s values, always considering the people impact of project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop a comprehensive project delivery plan for VCC
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with senior management.
- Ensure project delivery timescales are strictly adhered to, and any risks are mitigated.
- Ensure on-budget delivery of projects, quickly addressing and mitigating any budget-related risks.
- Lead project closure, including finalising deliverables, obtaining stakeholder approvals, conducting post-project evaluations, and conducting lessons learned workshops.
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, logistics, and technology, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, such as local vendors, auction houses, and resellers.
Operational Improvement (role critical):
- Lead key projects to ensure improved operational infrastructure, including logistics, warehousing, and customer service activity.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the project budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
- Monitor project expenses and provide regular financial reports to senior management.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track project progress and performance against established KPIs.
- Prepare and present regular status reports to the CEO and other stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that may impact project success.
Team Leadership:
- Build, lead and motivate a culture of project management compliance and understanding, providing guidance and support to achieve project objectives.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture.
